Anticipated Opening for the 2025-2026 School Year
Title:
Construction Technologies Instructor: Electrical Responsible To:
Building Principal/Administrator
Supervises:
Educational assistants (para-professionals)/volunteers/student teachers
Work Year:
184 day contract Terms of Employment:
Contract, salary, and benefits per negotiated agreement.
Qualifications:
- Candidate must currently hold a valid Ohio Career Technical Certificate/License
- If not already certified through ODE, you must participate in an approved state teacher education training program to obtain a valid Ohio
- High School diploma and a minimum of 5 years of work experience in construction trades
- Associate Degree in the content and a minimum of 3 years of work experience in construction trades
- Bachelor’s Degree in the content area and 2 years of work experience in construction trades
- Some instructional or supervisor experience preferred
- Knowledge of content outlined in Construction Technologies Technical Content Standards including technical skills, employability, curriculum development, and professional development skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction to students in the Construction Technologies Pathway with an emphasis on Electrical
- Provide leadership for the career technical student organization with the Construction Technologies Pathway
- Maintain & facilitate communication with
- Advisory Board
- Employers in the Construction field
- College & Career Readiness Supervisor (for compliance)
- Promote a safe classroom environment utilizing (OSHA) standards
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Maintain appropriate licenses/endorsements and training hours as required.
- Comply with applicable District, state, local and federal laws, rules and regulations.
- Adhere to all standards established by the Ohio Department of Education for Licensed Educators.
- Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
- Maintain knowledge of academic area, teaching methodology and strategies to engage students.
- Ability to work effectively with others.
- Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Exhibit professional behavior, emotional stability and sound judgement.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect for confidential information at all times.
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships.
- Attends meetings, professional development and serves on staff committees as required.
- Interacts in a positive manner with staff, students and parents.
- Refer suspected cases of child abuse immediately to the appropriate child protective services/law enforcement agency as mandated by state law and Board of Education policy.
- Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude and conversation.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect district equipment, materials and facilities.
- Plans purposeful assignments for educational assistants (para-professionals), volunteers and student teachers.
