ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY

Anticipated Opening for 2024-2025 School Year

 

Bus Drivers - Transportation Building       

 

This person will work a minimum 4.5 hours per day and will be paid as per salary schedule. Persons applying for this position must have a CDL Class B License with School Bus endorsement along with a high school diploma or GED. 

 

If you do not have a CDL Class B License with School Bus endorsement, we offer free training with a certified on board instructor. Training will provide the skills to obtain Class B CDL with school bus and passenger endorsement. The instructor will work around the trainee’s schedule to accommodate training, including nights and weekends. The trainee will initially pay for the temporary permit, CDL testing, and CDL license. The initial cost is approximately $125.00. Upon successful completion of testing and is officially hired, those costs are reimbursed to the trainee. The only non-reimbursed cost to the trainee is the cost of the fingerprinting. The trainee has the potential to work as a substitute bus aide while being trained.

JOB DESCRIPTION 

 

TITLE:                                 School Bus Driver

 

RESPONSIBLE TO:              Transportation Supervisor

 

DEPARTMENT:                    Transportation

 

CLASSIFICATION:              Bus Driver

 

LENGTH OF CONTRACT:     Nine-month contract - 188-day contract (hours depend on bus                                             route)

 

GENERAL DUTIES:             Safely operate a school bus transporting students to and from their homes and schools and on extra trips. Preferred one-year school bus driving experience.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:            Class B CDL with S&P Endorsement, Valid Pre-Service Certificate, Physical Capabilities to perform duties without restrictions
