Educational assistants (para-professionals)/volunteers/student teachers
 
Qualifications:                     

Must hold a valid Ohio Teaching License and/or the appropriate Endorsement and Authorization for the assignment.

Bachelor’s Degree in education from an accredited college or university.  Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
 
Terms of Employment:       

Contract, salary, and benefits per negotiated agreement.
 
Job Goal:

The teacher is the primary instructional delivery person in the classroom and plans, implements, and evaluates student learning experiences designed to address a wide range of maturity and skill levels.  The teacher helps students develop language, social, cognitive, and motor skills and also encourages parental involvement.  Student learning and growth are primarily dependent on the work and efforts of the classroom teacher. The position is demanding, varied and complex. The classroom teacher must have excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills and be well trained in content knowledge and researched based effective teaching, intervention, and behavior strategies.         

Note: Position requires successful completion and periodic renewal of state mandated and service center training requirements (e.g., communicable disease, child abuse, CPR, first aid, and/or behavioral management training).

 

Note: This position may require a valid driver’s license, access/availability of a reliable vehicle.
