School Bus Aide – May float between routes
The position of a Floating Bus Aide is now open. Please note the job description is attached. The aide will work a minimum of 4.00 hours a day. Normal working hours are as assigned.

Aides who are physically involved in lifting, feeding, restraining, moving of wheelchairs will receive 70 cents more per hour in addition to what is quoted in the Bus Aide Salary Schedule.
JOB DESCRIPTION – CLASSIFIED
TITLE: School Bus Aide for Students
RESPONSIBLE TO: Transportation Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Aides/Clerk
CLASSIFICATION: Bus Aides
LENGTH OF CONTRACT: Nine month contract - 188 days (hours dependent on bus route)
GENERAL DUTIES: To assist and help monitor and control the behavior of Students being transported to and from school.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Assists and monitors all students at pickup, discharge, and transfer points, as they get on and off the bus.
- Monitors behavior of the students and helps to see that they are adhering to bus rules and regulations
- Works with the bus driver to fill out transportation incident reports when corrective action is needed. These forms are then turned over to the Transportation Supervisor, who in turn delivers the reports to the appropriate building principal
- In the event of an accident, assists the driver in the evacuation of students.
- Assists the driver and students in the event of a medical emergency.
- Performs such other duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor/designee.
